Practice Description
Caroline is a French national, dual qualified in France and in the UK. She advises high net work individuals and trustees on cross-border tax, trust and succession planning issues. She has a particular emphasis on French clients based in the UK and on UK clients investing in France. Caroline focuses on strategies to minimise their French and UK tax exposures in respect of income tax, wealth tax, capital gains and inheritance tax, and on implementation of complex offshore structures. She has also developed her expertise on the French tax consequences of holding French assets through offshore trusts and on related succession issues including the French forced heirship rules and the application of the new EU succession regulations. Caroline advises on the transfer of residence under domestic law and on international tax treaties.

Caroline is a member of the Law Society of England and Wales. She is also a member of the Barreau de Paris and STEP France.
Career
Caroline worked for 5 years at CMS Bureau Francis Lefebvre in Paris in the international tax team. She then moved to London on secondment to CMS Cameron McKenna. She joined Baker & McKenzie in January 2007 at their Wealth Management Department. Caroline has spoken at a number of internal and external conferences in the UK and abroad.
Education and Bar
Admittance Caroline was born in France, completing all her law study in the University of Paris I and Paris II. She graduated from University with a Masters in Tax and Business Law and a Masters in North American and English Business Law. She qualified as a French Avocat in 2000. Caroline moved to England in November 2003. She qualified in July 2005 and is admitted to practice as a solicitor in England and Wales.
